This topic is worth 4 credits and will be assessed as a Common Assessment Task in September. The assessment will be in the form of a test completed without calculators. We will also have a practice assessment at the end of the topic (approximately week 8 of term one).

So far we have covered:
  • Rules of indices.
  • Expanding single and double brackets.
  • Factorising methods - add to times to, common factor, factorising by grouping, difference of 2 squares.
  • Changing the subject.
  • Working with algebraic fractions.
  • Solving linear equations.
  • Solving inequalities.
  • Solving quadratic equations.
  • Solving exponential equations.
  • Solving simultaneous equations.

All of these are covered in both Nulake and Gamma, and you should have completed pages 4-41 of Gamma for your homework.
